The Library Garden was originally set up by the librarian, Kate, and has been used by local groups and volunteers to grow vegetables, flowers and also as an outdoor space for storytelling and craft groups who use the library.
The produce has also been available inside the library for visitors to take home (donations welcome).
Sadly, the garden became neglected and overgrown, but is now being revitalised by local volunteers and is ready for the community to enjoy once again.

The volunteers generally meet once a week to oversee the care of the garden and tackle ‘big jobs’ such as revitalizing the compost area and ensure watering and general tidying is done.
The days can vary so do check out the Facebook page where events are posted or pop in to the library where we’re working on a list of jobs for each week. We’re also forging links with the local primary school and scout group.
The library is a much valued asset in the village and with the addition of the garden is a great social space to meet people and enjoy volunteering in a community.
Can you help? We still have lots of things that need doing, signs to give information as people are passing, the herb bed needs some attention, rain water gathering and soon the leaves will fall from the neighbouring trees for us to collect and compost.
To find out more or get involved please 'CONTACT US' and address your message to the garden coordinator, Jane, or pop into the library during opening hours.
