If you pass through Kingsmead you may have noticed that their parish council are leading the way by encouraging wild flowers to grow on the grass verges.
This not only saves a money for the local council as the maintenance is minimal but it also encourages wildlife and eco-systems to thrive including Bees.
It would be great to see our Town Council follow suit and encourage other areas of Northwich to do the same.

In this group we identify areas in our communities suitable for the creation of wild flower and perennial flower meadows.
We are talking to our parish councils and the team who do the town gardens to encourage them to care for these spaces in a new way.
What's your thoughts on encouraging wild flowers to grow around Northwich?

Check out our INTERACTIVE MEADOW MAP HERE. This records meadows and no-mow land in the town and shows proposed sites and our suggestions. You can add sites you think could be developed as wild flowers meadows or mowed less often.
