Transition Gardening
We care about nature and love growing our own food. We want to help local people to relocalise food production, try traditional varieties and learn to garden efficiently; by saving water and energy and reducing waste, cost and chemical use. We now have 4 green spaces that we support. At each, we host volunteer sessions each week to maintain the spaces.
These sessions are a great way to learn and share plant knowledge and meet local people.
We host craft & art workshops and welcome OTHER community groups in the town to use these spaces for free.
Joining the Team
Our team are all volunteers.
We're always looking for coordinators, volunteer managers and fundraisers.
Additionally we have Trustees. The Trustee Introduction Pack is a helpful introduction to this role.
If you'd like to find out more about any of these roles please contact us.

Our Policies
Transition is an inclusive, non-hierarchal group. That means everyone's ideas are important and equal. Decisions are made together and everyone is welcome to join our projects, volunteer and express their opinions.
We are non-political. This means we are not aligned with any political outlook and do not promote any political parties.
We speak to all elected decision makers.
We actively welcome people from marginalised communities. We strive to be accessible and to reduce power imbalance and natural bias in our decision making. Our monthly meetings are chaired to ensure everyone can speak and we warmly welcome newcomers.
The group was founded in 2015. In December 2019 we became a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation).
Charity Number: 1186841. This year we have 4 trustees and a treasurer and have an annual AGM, held in March.
