We plan to grow food plants where we can - the best, the freshest, organic, low mileage, tasty... We've also been blessed with a great inheritance of free-growing food plants, growing on waysides and neglected land. We've marked what we know of on a map.
If you can add directly to the map (you may need to sign into Google first) or let us know and we can add them. Please email us if you have any problems accessing the map.
Mobile planter at Waitrose that we planted and nurtured. Unfortunately we're there no more.
In 2018 we started working on land around CARE UK's premises on Chester Way in Northwich (formerly the Coop). Look out for our REWILDING CUBE - designed to be both a planter and living quarters for a host of interesting insects. It was set up just prior to the long spell of dry weather, so all praise to the efforts of many volunteers keeping it watered. In 2019 we planted up bags-for-life, as a temporary measure, behind Northwich Library. We hope to do something more permanent when maintenance works to the library are complete.
With all our planting, please touch, feel, smell, investigate, taste. And take samples (but not whole plants) home, and feel free to contribute - maybe some nurture, maybe another plant. Maybe start growing in some other public place, and let us know if you'd like help or have ideas!
